The Hourglass
Vocal and instrumental quartet performing a variety of musical styles, with an affinity for Jazz.
The Hourglass is a jazz music group which formed in early 2015 and is based in the Arkansas River Valley.
The group performs at a variety of events, and released their first all-0riginal, self-titled album in 2017. Specific genres embraced by this dynamic group include Latin, Swing, Bossa Nova, Blues, Calypso, ballad, pop, rock, Lounge, and acoustic.

Primary members include:
Al Grzech (piano/bass) studied music at Washington College, studied jazz under Dick Durham, and has played with steel drum recording artist Bill Bass.
Denise Messamore (vocals) studied music at Arkansas Tech University, and has performed extensively with many River Valley musicians including Christian artist Carmen. She teaches voice and piano in addition to her work as a musical performer.
Mark Steele (drums/percussion) studied music education at Henderson State, is a Band Director for Greenwood Public Schools, and performs with other groups in the River Valley.
Bryan Clark (guitar) has been playing and studying music for 30 years. He has studied music privately as well as at the college level and has been involved in numerous music projects from stage to studio.
