Stepheny Butcher
Singer/Songwriter’s contemporary Christian single, “Praise You,” features several Fountain Square House studio musicians.
Although Stepheny grew up singing in choirs and devoting herself to instruments such as steel drum and violin, she never imagined music being her calling. Growing up in a Montana Christian/bluegrass home encouraged and helped her in these aspirations, yet she planned a different life which never came to fruition. She settled for hairdressing which took her to Florida for a season of her life.

In Florida, Stepheny entered the Christian music scene, inspired by the likes of David Crowder and Barlow Girl. She learned to play guitar and write songs, in an original style she came to call “folk metal.” With her band Audible Vision, she recorded a literal “garage band” album, entitled “Lessons of Faith.” The band enjoyed local performances as well as a show on the main stage of the Jacksonville Fair. After this adventure, Stepheny quickly learned to play piano, which aided her continuance in writing music for two additional albums; one compiled of hymns and the other titled, “A New Day.”
Stepheny leads a bible study at the local jail and a monthly women’s conference, “Precious Tim.” She desires to travel in ministry.
Her most recent song is “Praise You,” a worshipful anthem to her King. Unlike how it all began, she now can’t imagine being anything but a musician and worship leader. Stepheny currently resides in Thermopolis, Wyoming with her husband Darren and their many pets.
