Bruce Fowler
Virtuoso drummer with impeccable sense of timing!
At Fountain Square House® we’ve come to deeply appreciate Bruce Fowler’s impeccable sense of timing. No matter how difficult the song Bruce is able to master it with ease. Likewise, he has a wonderful ability to display subtle virtuosity and add interesting touches to even the simplest musical pieces.
Bruce Fowler was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. At the age of thirteen, he began playing drums. By the age of sixteen Bruce was performing professionally in genres ranging from rock to soul to jazz to classical in the greater Los Angeles area.
Renowned drummer Andre Fischer, the man responsible for Bruce becoming a drummer, personally mentored him for five years. Andre is best known for his work as the drummer with the soul group Rufus (featuring Chaka Khan), and his work includes many gold and platinum albums. Andre’s family has been involved in the Hollywood motion picture industry for decades. Bruce was able to spend a lot of time back stage and in the recording studio with Andre, gaining invaluable first-hand knowledge and experience. Bruce credits Andre for helping him develop his keen understanding of the music business and his strong work ethic.
Bruce moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1988. During that time he began teaching private students of all ages from Arkansas and Oklahoma. In 2004 he was able to make teaching and performing his full-time job. Now, many of Bruce’s hundreds of students are working as drummers! Bruce’s passion for drumming is obvious when watching and listening to him perform.
